Eye On Fine Art Photography

We are a legally owned magazine, registered in the State of California, under our company name, C&T Publishing.

The Eye on Fine Art Photography magazine is aimed at so-called 'amateur' photographers who have an exceptional eye for photography, who create art through their photography and want to get noticed throughout the country. Our aim is to see that these artistic newcomers to the field are given a fair opportunity to break through the barriers that have long been imposed by the media market against non-professionally trained photographers. There is a big, wide world full of exceptional talent that has been ignored. It is time for these artists to come out of the shadows to gain the recognition they so richly deserve.

Each month will have a new theme. Submissions for each issue will be reflective of that theme.

Since most people have more interests than just photography we are dedicated to bringing you interesting news, events and stories about people from all over the world.

Expozitie : SALVATI ROSIA MONTANA - MADRID

Activiștii români din grupul Salvemos Roșia Montană – Madrid au organizat sâmbătă, 18 ianuarie a.c., în colaborare cu Primăria Ontinyent (Valencia) și Colegiul La Milagrosa, o expoziție de fotografie ecologică intitulată ”Esta es nuestra casa” (Aceasta este casa noastră) prin care au încercat sensibilizarea opiniei publice din Spania în legătură cu proiectul minier de la Roșia Montană și exploatarea gazelor de șist.

O parte a grupului Salvemos Roșia Montană – Madrid au fost prezenți sâmbătă la Ontinyent (Valencia), acolo unde au organizat un eveniment ecologic și cultural prin care au promovat imaginea României și au încercat să sensibilizeze opinia publică din Spania cu privire la proiectul minier de la Roșia Montană și problematica exploatării gazelor de șist prin fracturare hidraulică. Au fost expuse fotografii care ilustrează frumusețea Roșiei Montane și dezastrul ecologic de la Certej, care s-ar putea repeta în cazul în care la Roșia Montană demarează proiectul minier în varianta celor de la Roșia Montană Gold Corporation (RMGC).

Evenimentul, organizat prin grija doamnei Cosmina Maria Preduchin, membră a grupului Salvemos Roșia Montană – Madrid, s-a desfășurat în incinta sălii de festivități a Colegiului La Milagrosa din Ontinyent. Pe lângă problematica Roșia Montană, în cadrul acestui eveniment multicultural au fost prezentate problemele medio-ambientale cu care se confruntă Ecuador și Primăria Ontinyent. Au fost expuse fotografii din Ecuador, România și Spania și au fost proiectate și scurte prezentări video. Fotografiile prezentate din partea României au fost facilitate organizatorilor de către Edmond Kreibik și Daliana Păcuraru. De asemenea, în pauzele dintre prezentări un grup de muzică tradițională din Ecuador a încântat publicul participant.

La manifestare a fost prezent și domnul Gabriel Monge Fierro, Consul al Republicii Ecuador în Spania, care a vorbit celor prezenți despre dezastrul ecologic pe care compania Chevron l-a lăsat în Ecuador și despre sumele uriașe de bani pe care Chevron a fost obligată să le plătească. Domnia sa a fost interesat de situația de la Roșia Montană și a transmis felicitările sale organizatorilor și membrilor grupului Salvemos Roșia Montană – Madrid.

Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page Turns 70

Here’s wishing a very Happy Birthday to Led Zeppelin‘s Jimmy Page, who turns 70 on Thursday, January 9.

The influential guitarist is not only responsible for creating many of the most iconic riffs in rock history but he also produced all of Led Zeppelin’s albums and co-wrote nearly every one of his famous band’s songs.

Early in his career, Page established him as one of the U.K.’s top session guitarists, playing on well-known recordings by everyone from The Who and The Kinks to Donovan and Petula Clark. In 1966, he joined the famed blues-rock group The Yardbirds, first as the band’s bassist, and eventually replacing Jeff Beck as its lead guitarist. When The Yardbirds lineup began to fall apart in ’68, Page re-formed the band with three very talented new members — singer Robert Plant, bassist John Paul Jones and drummer John Bonham. The group, of course, soon was rechristened Led Zeppelin.
