Johnny Răducanu - In Memoriam
December,1/ 1931 – September, 19 /2011
He offered me a leaf like a hand with fingers.
I offered him a hand like a leaf with teeth.
He offered me a branch like an arm.
I offered him my arm like a branch.
He tipped his trunk towards me
like a shoulder.
I tipped my shoulder to him
like a knotted trunk.
I could hear his sap quicken, beating
like blood.
He could hear my blood slacken like rising sap.
I passed through him.
He passed through me.
I remained a solitary tree.
He
a solitary man.

A remarkable choice of man, pianist, a jazz man and a quiet person.
A great jazz pianist!
I must say I did not know him..
Thank you for sharing!!!!
The world will be sadder without him.
Great!

Bonza jazz pianist and a sad loss to the music world, may he R.I.P. :-).
A fitting tribute & an outstanding portrait.
I wasn't familiar with his work or this unique style although I have been exposed to some Romanian Jazz from Michael Cretu in Manchester recently.
You have introduced me to a musician who I had not met before, Wind, and I think your tribute to him is wonderful.
It amazes me how much fine music and how many excellent musicians there are in the world whose melodies and lyrics have never reached my ears. It opens up new horizons when a meeting finally does take place.
I also am pleased to see your sketch of Johnny Raducanu appear side-by-side with his music. His art and your art might be of different genre, but they are equally exquisite.
Jazz players must be honored!

Thank you for this wonderful tribute to a great man and musician.
Mi-l amintesc pe Johnny cum asculta un taraf cu ţambal şi s-a sculat de la masă, s-a dus la ei, şi a început să-i dirijeze...
Era practic o decantare a muzicii ca stare.
Excelent potret, Daliana, facut unui mare artist! Pacat ca de pe cerul nostru a mai cazut o stea...
Thank you for introducing.
Am sure his legend will continue to ring in many an ear.
Excelente homenaje.

Un abrazo.

Que retrato más fantástico. Saludos.-
Imi este greu sa scriu mai mult decat ca: Naturaletea sa merita omagiul dumneavoastra! Iar dumneavoastra meritati stima noastra!
Este o mare pierdere pentru orice pasionat de muzică în general, de jazz în mod special...
There was time when I listened to jazz and read about it. It was a big infatuation with it. My friend introduced me to the jazz and that was a great discovery.
I have never heard about this musician. I am glad that you introduced all of us to his music and his talent.
And your painting is fabulous, Wind. You showed all his life in his face, the life of a great artist. His eyes are sad and I like this sadness.
Great musician and great art work!!!!!
Greetings from me to you!!!!
Un omagiu binemeritat! pe când aveam vreo 20 si ceva de ani, am avut ocazia sa fiu în nenumarate ori în preajma Maestrului...
Mare artist.
