Situated at the crossroads of several commercial routes,
Constanta lies on the western coast of the Black Sea, 185 miles from the Bosphorus Strait.
Built between 1907 -1909 The Casino of Constanta was completed in 1910.
The architect who designed the building was Daniel Renard, a Romanian architect with French origins, aged 32, He projected the Casino in the Art Nouveau style, thus being one of the promoters of this artistic style in Romania.
The building has been the most representative in town for decades, a real symbol for Constanta.
Today, The Casino of Constanta continue to watch over the sea, without luxury and glamour .
The building began to crumble from inside.Windows are broken, the doors are blo cked with wood and walls shriveled . House for pidgeons.

Beautiful images! Would love to visit this place.
Such a pity they don't maintain such a place. It is amazing.
Greetings,
Filip

it's so sad to see that beautiful place which crumbles now ! if the walls could speak...!
great images
wonderful post! have a great week :)
Ce mare păcat!
Este dezolantă paragina acestei clădirii atât de frumoase și cu așa istorie!!!
Păcat!
Fotografii minunate ai scos de acolo, frumos !
woow.. beautiful casino... always i want to go there.. but i couldn't :(,...
The image of the chair bought tears to my eyes... how fragile history is...
Your title says it all: History for Sale.
Wonder if you might care to tell us what you HEARD when you took the photos?
Someway, your images make me hear the clicking of glasses mixed with the waves pounding in, a solo concertina being brushed by a torn hem, and the loud crash of a chair, that white chair with the red seat. Such brilliant repetition of red in the series.
Such sensual images keep wandering like a ghost when I view these stunningly understated images.
It's a pity to leave a building like this as house for pigeons! It's sad to see.Hope someone pay attention to its architectural value
It is sad to see a glorious building in such a mess ...
I like every photo in your blog and became a new follower.
Basilis,
from Glyfada Greece.
Se aude că în acest an va începe restaurarea.
Beautiful building.
Regards and best wishes
Magnificent buildings and colors.
Bonza photos of the grand looking Casino of Constanta well worth restoring to attract tourists :-).
Among my favorite photographs are those looking out from windows. Depending upon the window, they actually form two photos -- one of the window itself and another of the view outside. This is two for the price of one.
The same might be said of photos looking in from windows, but, for me, at least, I feel uncomfortable looking in through any windows. It creates a sense that I am invading someone's privacy.
In any case, you have included a wonderful variety of two views for the price of one in this series, Daliana. Excellent work, Ms. Photographer Extraordinaire.
The interior shots are wonderful. It is a shame that it hasn't been preserved though it has a different charm as it is.
Brilliant photo compositions, my master. Can I train under you? :) You're really the best.
Have a great week ahead. :)
Suntem incapabili, indolenti?
So beautiful. So Sad! I hope someone buys it and renovates it :)
Thank you for sharing this lovely piece of history :) T.
Casino COnstanta is one of my favourite places. I visited last winter with the frozen black sea, and ice sculpture, a very nice view! Great pictures!
Your photographs are magnificent. Today it is Wednesday, 25 June 2014. I would love to know an update on the restoration of the Cazino in Constanta. When I have more time, I'm going to look at your other photos, as well. I don't get to travel much, so I especially love looking at photos of distant places. I live in Enid, Oklahoma, USA.
