They turned out to voice their opposition to austerity measures and planned health care reforms. It was the fourth day of demonstrations in Romania against cuts and falling living standards.
Hope everything remains peaceful and that their voice will be heard. Thank you for your effort and these great images. Large demonstrations over here said for Tuesday.
Over here, they would be in the other 99%. The first one per cent owns more than half the total wealth... and we call this democracy.
What I remarked first was the dignity of all those people. Your series almost becomes a silent protest. How come the ultra-rich pay so few taxes?
You know, in the US last year, General Electric succeeded in paying no taxes at all. Simply horrendous. When you have some rich people that say to their government "I want to pay more taxes, this is unjust", something is truly horribly wrong.
And the poor have to pay and work more years.
Yes, all those people show indeed great dignity. But the wealthy are slowly preparing the roots of another revolution.
Thank you my friend. Thank you for this remarkable series.
Not only are you a fine photographer in a technical and an artistic sense, you could have a career as an outstanding photojournalist, Daliana. And, I am speaking as one who has worked and partied and, a time or two, suffered along with some excellent professionals.
You have once again wonderfully captured the passion, determination and character of these people. We live in difficult times & it seems that we all experience similar topics of concern.
I was there in the 5th day of protests. It was very peaceful, not like in Sunday, when the center of Bucharest was vandalized and people thrown woth stones and Molotov Cocktails. http://freakyvampire.wordpress.com/2012/01/19/azi-am-participat-la-protest/

Very difficult things for people to deal with. You have really captured some interesting expressions!

Nice job, lady.
I hope that the authority in Romania would read the protests, listen to their voices, consider them wisely.

I just hope these protests will bring the most wanted change!
Jos Basescu! Veniti cati mai multi, doar uniti putem sa scapam de viermii care s-au perindat pe la putere. Siberia este prea calda pentru ei...
Great images !
Thank you :-).
Kudos to the romanian people and to your faithful display of their protest!
