Sibiu , Hermannstadt - The City's Eyes

Sibiu is a city in TransylvaniaRomania
Sibiu is the symbol of a deep and abiding culture that has stood the test of centuries. Labyrinth of stones and secrets, lights and shades, the old town shows stories of the time passing and where the time seems to have stopped as well.
The old Sibiu possesses much of its erstwhile charm, a character carefully preserved, hopefully for posterity.

“Enchanting picturesque” would be the words to describe the special aura which emanates from Sibiu. The tiled roofs with odd angles ventilation slats watching the town creates an eerie very unique impression.

Hope

I am not what I ought to be.

I am not what I want to be.

I am not what I hope to be.

But still, I am not what I used to be.

And by the grace of God,

I am what I am.

FLORIILE - Flowers Day in VILLAGE MUSEUM

Floriile (the flower day) - last Sunday before Easter

This holiday marks the end of the Easter fasting but also the revival of nature after winter.
It is considered to be the name day of all Romanians with names of flowers (Florina, Florin, Margareta, Daliana etc.)
On this day, people go the church to bless small branches from the willow tree and later put them on door and window sills to protect their home from ills and unpleasant event.
