Life for Sale - Refugees

My dream for sale

My lonely city

My movies for sale

City story for sale

My friend

Sun place, between the thin lines marking sea and sand..

Sound for sale

Spring for sale

...So into the West, smiles on our faces, we'll go...

...nowhere to stay

We're refugees, walking away from the life we've known and loved...

smiling very peacefully

...in the summertime, though august people sneered...

We're refugees, carrying all we own in brown bags, tied up with string...

nothing to think

but we'll be happy on our own...

we began to notice that we could be free...

shadows coming alive in the golden sun...

So into the West, smiles on our faces, we'll go;
oh! yes, and our aplogies to those
who'll never really know the Way....

My heart, nothing to do nor say

N. was somewhere years ago and cold:
ice locked the people's hearts and made them old.
S. was birth to pleasant lands, but dry:
I walked the waters' depths and played my mind.
E. was dawn, coming alive in the golden sun:
the winds came gently, several
heads became one
in the summertime, though august people sneered...
we were at peace, and we cheered
We walked along, sometimes hand in hand,
between the thin lines marking sea and sand;
smiling very peacefully,
we began to notice that we could be free,
and we moved together to the West.
W. is where all days shall someday end;
where the colours turn from grey to gold,
and you can be with the friends.
And light flakes the golden clouds above:
West is Mike and Susie,
West is where I love.
There we shall spend the final days of our lives...
tell the same old stories: well, at least we tried.
So into the West, smiles on our faces, we'll go;
oh! yes, and our apologies to those
who'll never really know the Way....
We're refugees, walking away from the life we've known and loved...
nothing to do nor say, nowhere to stay; now we are alone.
We're refugees, carrying all we own in brown bags, tied up with string...
nothing to think, it doesn't mean a thing, but we'll be happy on our own.
West is Mike and Susie;
West is Mike and Susie;
West is where I love,
West is refugees' home.

  18. Your photographs said it all. Words are so insignificant here. Powerful post and powerful images. Great poetry... I also thought about freedom. Such a desirable word! You mention the Way.... The Way to freedom is always difficult...

    I listend also to the music and I loved it.

    Wind, you touched my heart by this post. You made me think who we are and where we are go....

    Many hugs and warm spring wishes to a beautiful artist Wind!!!!!!

  19. Sound for sale...

  20. I could write here all day and all night and still not adequately express my thoughts about the stunning, emotional impact of hearing that song for the first time and regarding the poignant magnificence of your photographs, Wind. I think you have a near-magical eye when you hold a camera in your hands.

    Your post makes me feel like I am driving down an unfamiliar road at a breakneck speed, trying to absorb the countryside flashing by me while also trying to maintain control of the car as curves and obstacles abruptly appear in front of me. I think I need to come back to this post a few times over a few days to try to grasp it better.

  21. Wind.
    Yes, it is always sad to see that there are people without a country
    and shelter.
    You bring to us again the most powerful
    images..

    Greetings...

  24. Greu de spus care ne place mai mult. Totusi, cea cu cainele in prim plan si sirul de tineri pe malul lacului e superba! Plina de poveste si miscare. Parca-i scoasa dintr-un film ;)

  29. Hi Wind, You always deliver something special and significant that you want to say beyond these outstanding Life for Sale images. I don't think I'm qualified to comment on the subject except to say that it's not the golden fleece that it's made out to be. Identification and who we are however is important & that is what I read here. It would be wrong to pick out favourite images here as they are all superb on this theme but I can not fail to mention image 1... breathtaking. Image 9 is very powerful... & I hope the dog didn't lick your camera lens !! haha
    My regards to you, J

  30. Hi, Wind. I was touched by the photo of a bird symbolizing freedom. Your photos from the beginning got me hooked immediately and reading the caption made me ponder about life. Suddenly, I remember what I read long time that we are all refugees of our decision.

    I love all the photos as always. The last photo is my favorite. Thanks a lot for this inspiring series, my idol.

  31. Imi plac toate, fara tagada! Insa nu stiu cum le-as putea incadra pe toate in titlu: refugees.

    Tied up with string cred ca nu mai e de actualitate. La mesaj ma refer :D

  32. hmm...
    ... am răsfoit încă o dată imaginile tale, din ultimele postări; m-am uitat, am revenit,... şi iar m-am întors...
    hmm...
