Paris, Mon Amour (II)

If you go away on this winter day
Then you might as well take the sun away
All the birds that flew in the summer sky
When our love was new and our hearts were high
When the day was young, and the night was long
And the moon stood still for the nightbird's song
If you go away....
But if you stay, I'll make you a day
Like no day has been or will be again
We'll sail the sun, we'll ride on the rain
We'll talk to the trees and worship the wind
Then if you go, I'll understand
Leave me just enough love to fill up my hand
If you go away...

If you go away, as I know you will
You must tell the world to stop turning 'til
You return again, if you ever do
For what good is love without loving you?
Can I tell you now, as you turn to go
I'll be dying slowly 'til the next hello?

If you go away...
But if you stay, I'll make you a night
Like no night has been or will be again
I'll sail on your smile, I'll ride on your touch
I'll talk to your eyes that I love so much
But if you go, go! I won't cry
Though the good is gone from the word goodbye
If you go away....
If you go away, as I know you must
There'll be nothing left in the world to trust
Just an empty room, full of empty space
Like the empty look I see on your face
I'd have been the shadow of your shadow
If I thought it might have kept me by your side
IF YOU GO AWAY
(Ne Me Quitte Pas)

  9. Yes the city of love -- you dazzle me with all these beautiful photo's each unique, so much to say about them one by one, punctuated with humor with the two separate -- male & female statues & the Eiffel tower and the statue of the couple --- sweet looking over his shoulder at the amusements.

Oh you tease us with your photo reflection in the glass building,, and love the ending with the woman walking away in the cold of night with the opening lines of the song captured below the photo.

    Superb,

    joanny

  13. Second part, but i am sure will not be the last. Everything began for the artist in Paris, but it never comes to an end. A wheel of senses that negins rolling but never stops again. Even the same street, the same corner, the same old and new facade reinvents itself with every new day. I am even starting to suspect, that Paris is not the same for those of us who watch it. She lies us, she presents a different face to every eye and soul, she is the one who fix the way she wants to be depicted by the artist brush, pen or camera. And let me tell you, dear Wind friend, that Paris has hold your hand and make you describe her, in the best and most superb way.
No Paris, we dont go away, not for good, we always want to come back and meanwhile, a piece of our heart by your side stays.
    Thanks for this journey =)

  21. Wind, I waited for the part 2 and this morning I am again in Paris. Thank you for that. All photographs are fabulous. I like also this little poem and Jack Brel.

Your world, Wind, is so big and I am glad to be a part of it.

Have a nice and creative week. My all best to you.

  22. It was a delight to travel with you once again on your journey, Wind. Two thoughts:

I particularly liked seeing the river and the glass buildings. Both have reflective qualities that can prove interesting to a photographer.

The street vendors always puzzle me in the sense of braving the harshness that often is encountered through nasty weather conditions. I think I would find and indoor location if I were among them or, in the least, something which kept me on the move.

    Happy travels ....

... Uite, ca m-am molipsit de la tine :)

  29. Wind:

Your stunning series of photo's here reminded me of this poem:

.on a quiet street where old ghosts meet I see him walking now
away from me so hurriedly my reason must allow,
that I had wooed not as I should a creature made of clay -
when the angel woos the clay she'll lose her wings at the dawn of day..."

-excerpt -- poem: "on raglan road" - Patrick Kavanagh

    Have a wonderful week end,
    warm wishes,

  30. Hi Wind, This set is outstanding, so much character and stories hidden in each one of these pictures. It is nice to see your touch once again on real life with great composition.
It is a bit unfair of me to pick a favourite as I am having difficulty choosing....so I will not.
The simple bird silhouette is effective even though he is watching you closely ! Self portrait... nice one, I had to remove one of mine recently as I did not realise I was in the photo... I can't be giving too much away.. Ha Ha.
Deep meaning song again... where do you find these ? !!
Lastly, the processing is in a different league..... hey, does anyone want to buy my camera ?!!
Always a pleasure visiting your page, J

  33. It's me again, Wind, I returned this late afternoon to listen to Jacques Brel and to watch your photographs.

I didn't listen to Jacques Brel for many years and I always liked him, always. Your photographs and music and a little poem stirred so many feelings and emotions in me.

This is very powerful post, Wind.
